On Sunday 6th December 2009, SLYC joined international classical pianist, Aleksander Kudajczyk, for a fundraising concert on behalf of L'Arche, a charity which builds communities with people with a learning disability and those who choose to live with them, or support them.
In preparation for Chopin's BiCentenary year in 2010, Aleksander performed favourite Chopin pieces with the choir filling in with some Mozart, Bob Chilcott and John Rutter. After the formal concert, everyone proceeded to the reception hall to enjoy some mince pies and fruit punch. A great time was had by all with the event raising over £1,000 for L'Arche.
